Week 14

Friday, April 13, 2012

It's hard to believe we've reached Easter so quickly. NY is looking really pretty right now. The whole of Park Avenue is lined with flowers and trees in blossom!

We've been enjoying Central Park a lot more too...

Over the Easter weekend we had another visitor!

We went to check out the museums on the upper east side, the Met and the Guggenheim...

And then to rockefeller centre which was particularly festive!

We took Sheila to a few bars and restaurants, where we stumbled across this intense cocktail...!

And enjoyed lots of Easter delights at the bakeries!

We even went to one bar with a taster board of different beers! This was one of Tom's favourites...

And of course, afterwards we had to take Sheila via Times Square!! This was the most amusing photo!

St Patrick's day parade

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

Last week was the St Patrick's day parade. About half of 5th Avenue was blocked off for the event and was filled with lots of revellers all dressed in green (of course!)

Unlike some of the other parades in the city, there were no floats, just a lot of marching bands from different areas of the city, regiments, schools and families.

This was the Grand Marshall of the parade!

The whole of 5th Ave was pretty much a sea of green!

This irish greyhound was HUGE!

More revellers outside the Apple flagship store(at the bottom of central park). The street was so full of people we couldn't move anywhere!

We're looking forward to the next parade this Sunday! The Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet festival!
