THE MOVE

Departure from Heathrow T5, bright and early on Jan 3rd 2012!

Breakfast at the departure lounge, looking exhausted before it all even began :-)

Welcome home!

Ever so slightly impressed...

We have a killer view...! And we assembled a make-shift bed for the first night on those hardwood floor, mostly just using blankets we took from the plane, thanks British Airways (but also.. ouch, not a good night's sleep!)!

Tom made our first meal on Day 2- with no pans or any other kitchen gadgets, nor any knowledge of where to do grocery shopping in Manhattan!! But we did manage to pick up some cutlery, 2 plates and a kettle!

Day 3 and we finally have light! Since the apartment doesn't have switch lights in the lounge or bedroom, until now we managed with the glare from the kitchen, bathroom, and our laptops. Needless to say, this first lamp was a big celebration.

And a bed... but no covers...We haven't worked out the US system of "comforters" and no duvets, so Sarah's mum kindly shipped us over a proper duvet!

Handily, the subway is right outside our building, here's the view...

We've already started exploring the city- We love Eataly by the FlatIron Building!!

Choosing kitchen utensils isn't easy! Tom got a little carried away by this point.

Day 3 and we're still eating on the floor...It'll be a while before the sofa and coffee table arrive

We love our roof, even if it is a bit windy and freezing cold right now, its going to be perfect come Spring!

So far... so good! ;-)
