Week 8

Friday, March 9, 2012

On Saturday we took a trip to Chelsea Market, which is pretty amazing, particularly if you love food...

There are so many incredible places it's difficult to choose! It took us ages to decide what to have for lunch. We settled on sandwiches, although Sarah's wasn't this big!

Later that afternoon we stopped off for a break from the cold with coffee and cheesecake...

That evening we went to see another 'Off-Broadway' show near Rockefeller...

Unfortunately it was a bit like a high school play, but mildly amusing in parts. We'd seen a lot better at Bristol University!

On Sunday we took the subway back to the MeatPacking District to go on the HighLine, although as it was such a nice day it was super busy and we didn't get to take very many pictures! Maybe next time!

We were both looking tired at the end of a busy weekend...

A walk in the park

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Last Monday was President's Day, a bank holiday here in the US. The weather was incredible so we decided to head to Central Park again and explore a little more...

Apparently the saxophone is the instrument of choice for the park buskers...

You see a lot of horse and carriages around the park. It seems like a nice idea, but it looks more romantic than the reality. Often we see large groups of protesters and animal rights groups kicking up a fuss about horses being in the city.

There are so many beautiful pavilions scattered about...

More entertainment...

Week 7 (part 2)

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

On Sunday we took a walk around Union Square and down into the Village. This stall at Union Square sells incredible waffles!

We stopped for brunch in an area by NYU. They do cocktails with their breakfasts!

This place in the village has every type of coffee you can imagine...

and David's Tea has every type of tea you can imagine...

and now bread.....

...and cheese!!

We particularly love to explore Bleecker Street. They have lots of our favourite shops :-)
