Week 7 (part 2)

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

On Sunday we took a walk around Union Square and down into the Village. This stall at Union Square sells incredible waffles!

We stopped for brunch in an area by NYU. They do cocktails with their breakfasts!

This place in the village has every type of coffee you can imagine...

and David's Tea has every type of tea you can imagine...

and now bread.....

...and cheese!!

We particularly love to explore Bleecker Street. They have lots of our favourite shops :-)

Week 7 (part 1)

Last weekend we took a stroll down Fifth Avenue towards the FlatIron building

This store was giving away free roses after Valentine's Day!

One of our (OK, Sarah's) favourite places to go is a cupcake cafe called Crumbs. They sell huge cupcakes with lots of delicious icing...

Tom prefers the smoothies at Jamba Juice!

The weather has been pretty amazing this week so we have lots more photos to share with you guys :-) Thanks for visiting the blog! xxx

Week 6

Thursday, February 23, 2012

Last weekend we had a visitor!

The guys went to 'Top of the Rock' to see the views. It was a bit cloudy though....

The ice skating rink is still up outside Rockefeller centre. We haven't been yet, but maybe now the medical insurance is sorted we'll give it a try!

The New York Public Library is so picturesque...

This crazy lady was a member of staff at the library. She attracted quite a lot of attention!

There are often pop up stores in the city, sometimes on buses! Sarah was sad to miss this Kate Spade one!

There are a lot of smelly fish markets in Chinatown...

But some really amazing dumpling places too!

An 'Off-Broadway' experience

Monday, February 20, 2012

So this was our first experience of an off-Broadway show, 'Fuerza Bruta' (Brute force) which was recommended to us by friends... It certainly was an experience! It was very visual and involved a fair amount of audience participation, whether that be moving around the space, dancing on stage, getting soaking wet or having polystyrene cubes smashed over your head. To be honest we didn't know what to think of it, but it was funny at the time and definitely impressive. It brings you out of your comfort zone!!
